THE SECRET OF SUCCESS IN SERVICE IS HAVING THE SOUL OF A SERVANT

DAVID KING SNR

THE GLORIOUS CHRISTIAN YOUTH ASSOCIATION

CODE OF CONDUCT

As a participant in the GLORIOUS CHRISTIAN YOUTH ASSOCIATION, I understand and agree to the following:

• I will respect myself, other people, other people’s property, and the church property.

• I will be an encourager, not one who ridicules, makes fun of, or criticizes.

• I will deal peacefully with anger and disagreements.

• I will participate and contribute in a positive way in all group activities and obey the instructions of the ASSOCIATION management.

• During meetings and rehearsals, I will show respect by not causing disruptions and not talking unless called on to respond.

• I will use language that reflects a Christian attitude. I will not use curse words or other foul language. • I will maintain my witness by keeping my hands to myself: no tickling, wrestling, piggyback rides or inappropriate touching (which means: do not touch anyone anywhere that a bathing suit would cover). In addition, physical displays of affection such as kissing, full body hugs, sitting on laps, and lying or sleeping next to each other are inappropriate and being isolated or alone with another member is not allowed.

• I will wear modest clothing. No clothing that is sexually suggestive or spiritually degrading. T-shirts or other clothing with evil, vulgar, illegal, or inappropriate content will not be permitted. In addition there should be: no midriffs, no low-cut tops, no spaghetti straps (tank tops must have a strap width of at least two fingers), no see through clothing, and no sagging pants (no boxers or underwear showing). Dress shorts or jean shorts must have at least a 4 inch inseam, and athletic shorts must be properly fitting with an inseam of at least 2.5 inches (not rolled up). Ladies are required to wear modest one-piece bathing suits or modest tankinis. Guys—no Speedos.

• I will not use cell phones, iPods, cameras or other personal electronic or entertainment devices during rehearsals and meetings. Special rules apply to trips: Bringing these devices on trips is highly discouraged and according to the needs of the trip is sometimes prohibited. On some trips the devices are allowed but may only be used during designated times.

• I will stay with the group at all times. For example, if we are having a meeting in the headquaters, I will not leave the association.

• I will not leave any activity, meeting, or rehearsal before its published ending time without approval from a parent or guardian “in person” or by phone.

• I will not possess a gun, long blade knife, or any other weapon at any meeting at the church or away.

• I will not use, possess or be under the influence of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana or other illegal drugs at any of the meetings.

• I will not engage in sexual intimacy or sexual harassment, and will not possess pornography at any youth ministry activity. I have read the GLORIOUS CHRISTIAN YOUTH ASSOCIATION Discipline Policy and the Code of Conduct and agree to abide them. __________

GCYA PICNIC/ DAVID KING SNR'S BIRTHDAY PARTY AT TAKWA BAY BEACH, CMS, VICTORIA ISLAND , LAGOS.

DATE:

JANUARY 1, 2017.

TIME:

4:00PM

COMING SOON!!!

GCYA'S GOT TALENT SEASON 1
TALENTED?
DON’T BURY IT!
Bible Reading: Matthew 25:14-30
Everyone has at least one (1) gift or talent.
Some people are born talented at acting, music, singing, carpentry, knitting,
dancing, painting, writing, tennis, cooking etc. But we each have to unwrap or
discover what it is. Nobody or baby when born, is born with a label stuck on
them saying ‘star tennis player’, ‘brilliant writer’ or ‘great cook’. Are we born
great or do we become great?
Everyone has to work to find out their gift and then use it. The problem with
the one of the characters in the bible reading was that he did nothing with the
gift he had been given.
Points to Note
a. Imagine getting a gift and never finding out what’s inside, yet admiring
the wrapping paper yet that’s what many people do with what GOD has
given them.
b. Our talents don’t belong to us. Two of the servants remembered that
their talents were not their own but had to be returned well looked
after for the owner at the due time. None of our talents belongs to us.
We get them from our Maker. We have to give an account for them to
Him. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights (James
1:17)
c. GOD is not happy with us when we don’t use, cultivate or use our
talent. When we are faithful with a few things, GOD will put us in
charge of many things. For everyone who has (or cultivates his talent)
will be given more and he will have in abundance, whoever does not
have, even what he has will be taken from him Matthew 25:26 - 29
Memorise: Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of Lights
(James 1:17 )
Action Point: You must make a commitment and take steps to discover and
use your talent in order to fulfill your purpose and please GOD (John 15:2)

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

MYLES MUN ROE ONCE SAID AND I QUOTE, “THE RICHEST PLACE ON EARTH IS NOT THE OIL FIELD OF KUWAIT OR SAUDI ARABIA, IT IS NOT EVEN THE GOLDMINE OF SOUTH AFRICA, BUT THE CEMETERY, BECAUSE THEREIN ARE BURIED POTENTIALS, TALENTS, IDEAS, AND INVENTIONS THAT WHERE NOT DISCOVERED, REALISED AND USED.

THE TRUTH STILL REMAINS THAT APPROXIMATELY, 20% OF OUR YOUNG CHRISTIAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS ARE OUT THERE WASTING THE POTENTIALS THAT GOD HAS GIVEN TO THEM, 50% OF THEM DO NOT EVEN KNOW THE PURPOSE OF GOD FOR THEM AND 30% OF THEM ARE IN THE GRAVEYARD WITH THEIR TALENTS.

THEN I WANT TO ASK YOU A QUESTION,
WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO SAVE THE LOST TALENTS, OR WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO REDUCE THE PERCENTAGE RATE OF THE DYING POTENTIALS OF OUR YOUNG PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY AT LARGE.
LETS RISE AND WORK TOGETHER IN THIS WONDERFUL GENERATION, SO WE CAN RECOVER THE LOST TREASURES, OR DISCOVER THE HIDDEN TREASURES IN THEM.

A FRIEND ONCE SAID AND I QUOTE "| DO NOT HAVE A TALENT", WHICH IS A LIE, TO HIM I CAN SAY THAT HIS TALENT IS LYING, DO NOT BE DECEIVED ,YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST THAT STRENGTHENS YOU, THAT'S WHAT THE WORD OF GOD SAYS.

Drama Strategies

Drama strategies – also known as drama techniques or drama conventions – are the everyday tools of the drama teacher. They help to develop enquiry skills, to encourage negotiation, understanding and creativity. They can enhance performance skills such as character development and storytelling and be used across the curriculum to actively involve students in their own learning.
